Love Irish pubs? You can own one in Ohio for $1.6 million, and it comes along with a house.

A custom-built home located at 860 W Hill Dr. in Gates Mills near Cleveland includes a lavish basement bar.

$1.6 million Ohio home features Irish pub, wine cellar in the basement

Built in 1993, the four-bedroom, five-bathroom brick home has two levels and sits on 3.2 acres near the end of a cul-de-sac on a private street in Gates Mills. Indoor features include a chef’s kitchen, private study/library, billiards room, basketball game room, and, of course, the standout Irish pub downstairs.

The Irish pub experience is just a walk downstairs. According to the listing, the pub features authentic reclaimed wood posts and beams, leaded glass windows, a custom bar with beer on tap, a wine cellar and a wood-burning stone fireplace. There’s also a billiards room as well as a basketball room on the lower level.

Outside, there’s a wooded deck accessed from the upper level overlooking a gas bonfire pit. Additional outdoor space is used for a children’s playhouse with a slide and trampoline.

Inside, the 7,396-square-foot property greets you with a massive double-level foyer accompanied by glossy white marble flooring and curved archways. The same level features a formal dining room and chef’s kitchen with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, a breakfast bar and a casual dining area.

The bedrooms are located upstairs. The massive primary bedroom includes vaulted ceilings and a room-sized walk-in closet with an adjacent exercise room. Three additional bedrooms plus a Jack & Jill bath are also on the upper level.

Ohio Irish pub basement home price drops

The Gates Mills home has been on the market since June 2025 and originally listed for $1,649,900, according to Zillow. The price has since dropped to $1,599,999, a $49,900 price cut (as of July 18). The home has spent about 70 days on the market as of September 4.

The listing adds that there is an HOA fee ($2,781 fee per year), which includes snowplowing of the driveway.

The luxurious, once-$20 million Hunting Valley home (also in the Cleveland area) is believed to be the most expensive home listing in Ohio history. On the market for more than a year, the price has since dropped to $18 million. With a yacht-themed interior design, the home has six bedrooms and 13 bathrooms on a 61-acre lot.
