A person of interest was taken into police custody after a 46-year-old man was fatally shot multiple times Saturday morning in the River North neighborhood, Chicago police said.
The victim was standing outside a vehicle in the 800 block of North Cambridge Avenue shortly after 9:45 a.m., when someone opened fire striking him multiple times in the back, police said. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The gunman fled in a dark-colored vehicle, authorities said.
A person of interest was being questioned.
