A Litchfield man faces multiple charges after allegedly driving 100 mph on the F.E. Everett Turnpike and switching seats with a juvenile passenger when police attempted to stop him.
Trooper Ryan Harkonen was patrolling the turnpike southbound in Nashua about 1:15 p.m. Saturday when he spotted a white Honda Accord being driven recklessly at excessive speed, State Police said.
The trooper activated the emergency lights of his vehicle, and observed the driver swap positions with a juvenile passenger, state police said.
Police identified the driver as Mateo Hernandez, 20, who was arrested and charged with reckless operation, operating without a license and disobeying a police officer.
Hernandez was released on personal recognizance and is scheduled for arraignment May 14 in Nashua District Court.
