18-year-old dies in motorcycle wreck

BELLEFONTE A man has died after a collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV on Friday night just before midnight.

According to the Boyd County Coroner’s Office, Isaiah Dinger-McCoy, 18, of Worthington, was pronounced deceased at the scene of a wreck at the intersection of State Route 5 and Laverne Court.

The coroner’s office responded to the scene at around 11:50 p.m. Dinger-McCoy was pronounced deceased at 12:10 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, “due to blunt force injuries.”

Based on preliminary investigation, an SUV was traveling north and the motorcycle was headed south on State Route 5 when the collision occurred.

Kentucky State Police is the lead agency investigating the crash, according to the coroner’s office.

Dinger-McCoy was going to be a senior at Raceland-Worthington High School.

The Raceland-Worthington School District posted the following on social media on Saturday: “It is with profound sadness that we acknowledge the passing of a Raceland-Worthington High School student. This student was a valued portion of our district community and will leave a deep void to all who knew them. They will be remembered for their dedication to learning, their respectful nature, and the positive impact they had on peers and faculty alike. Their presence enriched our community, and they will be greatly missed. We extend our deepest sympathies to their family, friends, and all who mourn this tragic loss. During this time of grief, we encourage our Ram community to come together in remembrance and support of one another.”
