A 19-year-old man is in custody after allegedly killing his brother and injuring a woman in New Albany Tuesday.

New Albany Police Chief Todd Bailey said Andreas Boutista is in custody after allegedly shooting his 24-year-old brother, Antonio Boutista, and injuring a 70-year-old woman during an altercation in the area of Wolfe Trace Court at around 8:10 p.m. Tuesday.

When officers arrived, they found Antonio suffering from a gunshot wound near the intersection of Wolfe Trace Court and Wolfe Trace. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman, who remains unidentified, lived in the area and was struck when walking her dog, Bailey said. She was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital and is in stable condition as of Wednesday morning.

Bailey said it is currently unknown why Boutista shot his brother and the investigation remains ongoing.
