All lanes of the George Rogers Clark Memorial Bridge are back open to traffic Sunday after two drivers were hospitalized from a three-vehicle rollover crash early in the afternoon, Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Aaron Ellis said in a statement.
Around 12:30 p.m., First Division officers responded to a call about a vehicle collision and found a crash in the middle of the bridge when they arrived on scene. First responders took drivers from two passenger vehicles to the University of Louisville Hospital, where they are receiving treatment for what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries, Ellis said. A third driver was checked out by first responders, but they were not hospitalized.
LMPD and first responders from Indiana worked to shut down both sides of the bridge and clear the vehicles from the roadway, Ellis said. The bridge remained closed for about two hours.
A preliminary police investigation showed a passenger vehicle was traveling southbound on the bridge, when for an unknown reason, it crossed into the northbound lanes and struck a passenger vehicle. The southbound vehicle rolled over and then struck a second vehicle, Ellis said.

No charges are expected to be filed, Ellis said, but LMPD’s First Division continues to investigate.
