Topeka police arrested two men June 17 in connection with the November 2024 shooting death of a Topeka woman.
Julian B. Vann, 33, and Damian L. Lewis, 30, both of Topeka, were taken into custody in connection with crimes linked to the killing in North Topeka of Jessie L. Grahnert, 32, of Topeka, said police Lt. Donna Eubanks.
Vann was booked at 1:40 p.m. June 17 and Lewis at 4:10 p.m. June 17 into the Shawnee County Jail, where records showed each was being held without bond in connection with one count each of intentional and premeditated first-degree murder and the criminal discharge of a firearm at a dwelling causing great bodily harm.
Lewis also was being held in connection with the criminal possession of a weapon by a felon who’s been convicted of a crime committed using a firearm, jail records said.
Formal charges hadn’t been filed regarding Grahnert’s death.

Victim was found in 2000 block of N. Kansas Avenue
Grahnert was found fatally shot Nov. 24 in the 2000 block of N. Kansas Avenue, Topeka police said.
Officers were called just after 8:30 p.m. that day to the scene, where she was pronounced deceased, they said.
