2 people injured in Highway 61 crash in Winona

Oct. 3—WINONA, Minn. — Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Winona on Friday, Oct. 3, 2025.

A 2014 Ford F-150 was traveling from westbound Parks Avenue onto northbound U.S. Highway 61 and a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox was traveling north on Highway 61 when the vehicles collided in the intersection, according to a Minnesota State Patrol crash report. The crash was around 9:20 a.m. Friday.

The driver of the Ford, 71-year-old James Alan Johnson of Altura, had non-life threatening injuries. He was taken to Winona Health.

Johnson was not wearing a seat belt, according to the report.

The driver of the Chevrolet, 32-year-old Holly Mary Stamschror of Elgin, had non-life threatening injuries. She was taken to Winona Health.

The Minnesota State Patrol, Winona Police Department, Winona Area Ambulance Services and Winona Fire Department responded to the crash.
