By India Today Web Desk: India have added Kuldeep Yadav to their squad for the third and final ODI against Bangladesh to be played on Saturday, December 10 at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.
The decision was taken after the Men in Blue faced quite a few injury concerns in the ongoing series. India have faced a few blows after both Kuldeep Sen and Deepak Chahar were ruled out of the third game of the series.
Even as Chahar sustained a hamstring injury in the second ODI, Sen didn’t play the second game after complaining of back stiffness.
Indian skipper Rohit Sharma will also not be a part of the third ODI after he injured his thumb during the second match. The 34-year-old Rohit tried to take a catch in the slip cordon, but he failed. To add insult to injury, he took a blow on his thumb and went to the hospital for scans.
Later, he came out to bat at No.9 when India were chasing 272 to win and draw level in the series. Rohit scored an unbeaten 28-ball 51, but his valiant efforts went in vain. Rohit has gone back to Mumbai to ascertain the gravity of his injury.
India lost the match by 5 runs and lost the series 0-2. In Rohit’s absence, KL Rahul will lead the Men in Blue in Chattogram. Bangladesh have never whitewashed India in an ODI series.
