Saket court extended judicial custody of Aftab Poonawala by 14 days.

By Himanshu Mishra: The Saket court in Delhi on Friday, December 9, extended the judicial custody of Shraddha Walkar murder case accused Aftab Poonawala by 14 days. He was produced before the court via video conferencing.

Aftab is currently lodged in Tihar jail after being charged with murdering his partner Shraddha Walker on May 18. Earlier, he was to be produced in person but the decision was changed due to security reasons.

On behalf of the investigating officer of Mehrauli police station, it was told in court that the investigation in the Shraddha murder case is going on by the Delhi Police and the judicial custody of the accused should be extended for 14 days.

Aftab was in judicial custody for 13 days and was lodged in Tihar jail from where he was taken for polygraph and narco tests. The Delhi Police is still waiting for DNA and FSL reports.

Aftab chopped his partner, Shraddha, in 35 pieces, stored her dismembered body in the fridge, and disposed off in the jungles of Delhi. The man was arrested after five months on November 14.
