By India Today Web Desk: Ishan Kishan created history on Saturday as he became the fourth Indian batter to score a double hundred in ODIs as he put the Bangladesh bowlers to the sword in the third ODI.
Kishan came into the lineup to replace injured captain Rohit Sharma and grabbed his opportunity with both hands to put India in the driving seat.
The 24-year-old brought up his hundred in 85 balls and then decided to switch gears to entertain the fans in Chattogram. Kishan reached the double hundred mark in just 126 deliveries and his knock consisted of 23 boundaries and nine sixes.
This meant that he went past Chris Gayle’s record. Gayle scored his double hundred against Zimbabwe in just 138 deliveries during the 2015 World Cup in Australia.
