By Poulomi Saha: A snake was found in the cargo hold of a Dubai-bound Air India Express aircraft. The reptile was found after the aeroplane landed at Dubai International Airport (DXB) on Saturday. Subsequently, the aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DCGA) ordered a probe into the incident, as per senior officials.

All passengers safely deplaned the aircraft B737-800 which departed from Kerala’s Calicut. The senior official of DGCA said that the snake was found in the plane’s cargo hold after it arrived at the DXB airport.

Shortly after the incident, Dubai airport’s fire services were prompted. Aircraft fumigation is in progress at present.

An aggrieved passenger even shared the plight stating they have been ‘stuck at Dubai airport for 7 hours’, to which, Air India replied, “Dear Sir, kindly note that IX344 (DXB-CCJ) is scheduled to depart at 1:45 AM on 11 Dec 2022. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. Thank you.

“We are sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. Hope you have been transferred to a hotel and have been updated by our team about the incident,” the commercial airline further stated.
