By Gajendra Tripathi: A couple in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur allegedly died by suicide and their bodies were found on December 8. A suicide note was found where the husband addressed his father and blamed him of neglecting them.
The incident took place in Jungle Dhusan in the Pipraich police station area where the couple had rented a house. The wife was found dead in their room while the husband’s body was lying around 100 metres away from the room.
Pipraich police station in-charge Suraj Singh told India Today that the husband was a resident of Chiutahan in the Sinduria area of Maharajganj. He came to Gorakhpur ten years ago for some work and for his studies.
He bought an auto after taking a loan and became an auto-driver to earn his livelihood. He and his wife rented a house in Jungle Dhusan even as their debt increased. Locals said the couple often fought regarding the loan and got into quarrels frequently.
In the suicide note, the husband said they decided to take their own lives as the father prefers his daughters over him.
