By India Today Web Desk: Ishan Kishan said that he told himself to play aggressively during his 210 against Bangladesh on Saturday as he felt the wicket was good for batting in Chattogram.

Kishan broke all sorts of records during his incredible innings as he scored the fastest ODI double hundred and smashed 24 boundaries and 10 sixes along the way.

Kishan opened up to Shubman Gill on BCCI’s website about the innings and opened up on many topics. The 24-year-old said it felt good to have his name amongst legendary players like Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Rohit Sharma to have scored a double hundred in ODIs. Kishan said that he thinks he can get a few more big scores in the future.

“Obviously, it feels very good to have my name with so many legend players Sachin paaji, Viru paaji and so many other players, Rohit bhai. And I think, I can get few more,” said Kishan.

Gill then asked Kishan if he went with a mindset to score a double hundred, to which the latter said no. The 24-year-old said he wasn’t thinking about anything as such and first saw himself reach 90 at first and from then played according to the situation.

Kishan said that he thought the wicket was good and didn’t want to play a slow innings and then decided to go on the offensive.

“No, I didn’t think about it while going to bat. First I saw myself at 90 something and I calmed myself down after that. Then, from 90 I saw myself at 146. From 146, then I saw myself at 190. So I wasn’t thinking about anything as such. I thought the wicket was so good, so why should I deliberately play a slow innings? And the situation was so good that I told myself to play aggressively,” said Kishan.
