Parliament will be recalled next week to pass the government’s $1.5 billion energy plan, which also includes price caps on coal and gas.
It comes after Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced a suite of measures to address rising power bills which were agreed upon at National Cabinet on Friday.
Energy assistance will be given to eligible households and small businesses from the middle of next year.
