A 51-year-old man has died in an apparent homicide at Cherry Rock Park, officials with the Sioux Falls Police Department stated in a press release Sept. 24.
Officers were called to the park at 8:53 a.m. in the area of 1800 East 18th Street for a well-being check, where they found Thomas Mark Fernandez, who had visible injuries, the release states.
He was taken to an area hospital for treatment, but later died from those injuries, police stated.
Through the investigation, detectives identified and arrested four potential suspects, who include:

All four were initially arrested for aggravated assault and robbery in the second degree, but have since each been indicted for first-degree murder, second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter in addition to the earlier charges.
No other information has been released at this time, the release states. Police stated there is no threat to the public.
