Delaware State Police identified the victim of a fatal car crash that occurred on July 3 near Dover.

The victim was 76-year-old Anna Skeans, a Dover resident.

Police reported that Skeans, driving a white Honda Accord, was stopped at a stop sign between Birchfield Drive and Forest Avenue.

Skeans entered the intersection at the same time as an unidentified person driving a Hyundai Veloster, heading west on Forrest Avenue and approaching Birchfield, police said. The left front of the Hyundai then crashed into the right front of the Honda.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital. The Hyundai driver, a 17-year-old boy from Marydel, Maryland, had non-life-threatening injuries, as reported on July 4 by police.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has relevant information is asked to contact Master Cpl. W. Booth at (302) 698-8451. Information may also be provided by sending a private Facebook message to the Delaware State Police or contacting Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-847-3333.
