A man has been found guilty of child molestation after a Marion County jury trial on July 23.
Bahati Magambo, 27, was convicted of three counts of child molesting. Magambo sexually abused the victim multiple times between January and May 2023 in Indianapolis, according to the probable cause affidavit, before being arrested in May 2023 by Indianapolis Metropolitan Police.
Magambo, who lived with the victim’s family, told police he “may have” touched the victim, and later admitted he did assault her, though his conscience “made him stop,” according to the affidavit.
The victim told her friend’s grandmother, who reported the abuse to police.
Magambo’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for Sept. 2.
