What happened at the Fond du Lac residence Saturday night?
Police responded to the residence around 11:30 p.m. July 26 after receiving reports of a disturbance.
When they arrived, they found several people and learned one person had already been taken to the hospital by private vehicle after suffering knife wounds. They also learned a gun had been fired inside a residence.
Officers cleared the residence and checked neighboring apartments to ensure no other victims or threats remained, the news release said.
During that process, officers discovered a firearm had been fired from one apartment with rounds entering two adjacent apartments. Police said no additional injuries were reported.
Detectives then responded to the scene and were able to identify the Elm Grove man as a suspect.
