is reporting life-threatening injuries after a three-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon on Minnesota Highway 7 in Chippewa County between Montevideo and Clara City.
According to a
from the State Patrol, a vehicle parked on the shoulder of the highway and eastbound and westbound vehicles on the highway collided at the intersection of Highway 7 and Chippewa County Road 6 in rural Montevideo.
A 2018 Chevrolet Silverado pickup driven by Jeffrey Wicht, 52, of
was westbound on Highway 7. A 2006 Pontiac Montana driven by Patrick Lundberg, 44, of
was eastbound on Highway 7. A 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander driven by Jordan Kabisch, 25, of Montevideo, was parked on the shoulder of Highway 7 when the collision occurred.
Lundberg and Wicht both suffered injuries the State Patrol described as life-threatening. According to the State Patrol accident report, the airbags in their vehicles deployed, but neither man was wearing a seat belt.
Both were transported to the CCM Health Hospital in Montevideo for treatment.
Kabisch was uninjured in the crash. She was wearing her seat belt. The airbag did not deploy.
Road conditions were wet at the time of the crash reported at 1:27 p.m. Sunday, and alcohol is not involved, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The
Montevideo Fire and Emergency Medical Services, Maynard Fire and First Responders, and Clara City Fire and Ambulance units responded to the scene.
