Minneapolis Mayor Dodges “Transgender” Shooter’s Motives And Mental Health, Blames Guns Instead

Must read

After an incident in which a “transgender” shooter tragically murdered Catholic school children during Mass, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey shifted the focus away from the shooter’s mental illness.

Instead, he expressed support for the “trans community” and put the blame on guns rather than the bad actors.

Robin Westman, a 23-year-old man who identified as “transgender,” killed two students and injured 17 during Mass at Annunciation Catholic Church in Minneapolis the morning of August 28, as The Dallas Express reported.

“I think the impetus has to be on all of us as leaders to do a whole lot more. To recognize that we’ve got more guns in this country than we have people,” Frey said during a press conference posted to Facebook.

The video cut off just before he defended the “trans community,” despite the “transgender” shooter’s targeting of Catholic kids.

“I have heard about a whole lot of hate that’s being directed at our trans community,” Frey continued. “Anybody who is using this as an opportunity to villainize our trans community, or any other community out there, has lost their sense of common humanity.”

The Shooting

Westman, clad in black, approached the church around 8:30 a.m. during the back-to-school Mass for students at Annunciation Catholic School, as The Dallas Express previously reported.

He brought a rifle, a shotgun, a pistol, and a smoke bomb. Westman barricaded multiple doors, then shot victims from outside the church windows, killing two – ages 8 and 10 – and injuring 17 others. At the time, he left two more in critical condition.

Officers with the Minneapolis Police Department “immediately” responded. Westman ultimately shot and killed himself.

EMS requested a “mass casualty” response, and fire crews brought “additional resources” to the scene. The FBI also responded.

“This was a deliberate act of violence against innocent children and other people worshipping,” MPD Chief Brian O’Hara said at the time. He added that investigators would continue conducting searches.

President Donald Trump said he was “fully briefed” on the situation.

“The White House will continue to monitor this terrible situation,” Trump posted. “Please join me in praying for everyone involved.”

More “Trans” Terror

Westman’s name was originally Robert, but his parents changed it to Robin while he was still a minor in 2020, according to court documents previously obtained by The Dallas Express.

“Minor child identifies as a female and wants her name to reflect that identification,” reads the order granting the name change.

Westman allegedly posted an 11-minute video on social media before the shooting, as The Dallas Express reported. It showed his likely manifesto, ammunition, and guns with deranged messages – including “Kill Donald Trump” and “Where is your God?”

Westman’s apparent manifesto suggests a long pattern of fascination with mass shooters. It included apologies to friends and family members, as well as a sketch of the church’s layout.

The manifesto expresses a desire to “escape from this world,” specifically the “injustice of America.” It reads, “I don’t want to kneel down for the injustices of this world.”

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz signed legislation that took effect in 2023, making the state a “trans refuge” – further codifying genital mutilation procedures termed “gender-affirming care,” including for minors.

Trump signed an executive order earlier this year, “Protecting Children From Chemical and Surgical Mutilation.”

Walz said it would be a “mistake” for Democrats to back away from “transgenderism.”
