A traffic stop in Red Bluff landed a man behind bars on drug-related charges on Thursday, Aug. 21.
The traffic stop occurred around 2 a.m., on Willow Street in Red Bluff when a police officer pulled over a vehicle driven by 67-year-old Randall Harvey Smith on suspicion of several traffic violations, reported the Red Buff Police Department.
During the stop, the officer learned Smith was allegedly driving on a suspended driver’s license and had multiple convictions for felony possession of “hard drugs,” including methamphetamine.
As the officer investigated the vehicle, he reportedly discovered a functioning digital scale, multiple plastic baggies and more than an ounce total of methamphetamine packaged in plastic baggies in various amounts.
Smith was arrested and booked into the Tehama County Jail on suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamine for sale, transportation of a narcotic controlled substance for sale and possession of a narcotic controlled substance with two prior arrests.
