Two drivers were hospitalized after colliding on Interstate 93 in Concord on Thursday, an accident that State Police say was caused by one of the vehicles going the wrong way on the highway.

New Hampshire State Police said they received multiple reports of a wrong-way driver entering I-93 in the early afternoon on Thursday. A silver Hyundai sedan allegedly entered the highway via an Exit 13 offramp, going north in the southbound lanes.

The Hyundai then crossed into the high-speed lane and collided with a black Chevrolet pickup truck, causing non-life-threatening injuries to the drivers, according to a news release.

Police identified the driver of the Hyundai as Liana Fox, 18, of Bow, and the driver of the Chevrolet pickup as William Marie, 57, of Barrington.

Emergency personnel briefly closed two southbound lanes on I-93 while freeing Fox from her vehicle.

State Police are still investigating all aspects of the crash as of Thursday evening. Anyone with information that may assist in the investigation is asked to contact Trooper First Class Jacob Plourde at 603-451-9329 or jacob.j.plourde@dos.nh.gov.
