The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday announced a pair of drug arrests and seizure of drugs, dealing paraphernalia and cash.
Arrested and booked into Sullivan County Jail were:
• Joann Pierce, 50, of Merom; dealing methamphetamine, possession of more than 28 grams of meth; possession of marijuana (misdemeanor). Bond is set at $72,000.
• Chastity Shepler, 45, of Merom: possession of more than 28 grams of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana (misdemeanor). Bond is set $34,000.
Seized was about 40 grams of meth, about 75 grams of marijuana, digital scales; multiple baggies for packaging; prescription pills; cash.
The sheriffs office said the arrests were the result of an Aug. 11 investigation by Deputy PJ Montgomery and K9 Handler Cole Boatright in the Graysville and Merom areas.
As a result of the investigation, Montgomery conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle just north of Merom on Indiana 63. During that stop, K9 Qlark was deployed and indicated to the presence of illegal substances being present in the vehicle, resulting in a search.
