Montgomery police charged Litasha Washington with murder and arrested her April 18. She is now in the Montgomery jail.

Montgomery police and fire medics responded to the shooting at about 8:49 p.m. April 11 in the 1500 block of Hale Street. They found Jackson with a life-threatening gunshot wound. First responders transported him to a local hospital, where he later died.

Jackson’s loved ones made up most of the audience at the Montgomery City Council meeting April 15. His sister, Sabrina, urged councilors to make changes to curb violence in the city.
