Fall is around the corner in Rhode Island, and as you feel the first autumn breeze brush over your skin and drink your first pumpkin spice latte of the season, you’re probably imagining biting into the crunchiest, juiciest red apple that fall has to offer.
But where exactly can you find fresh apples in Rhode Island? Luckily, the Ocean State has plenty of farms and orchards full of apples this time of year, many of which let you pick the apples off the trees yourself.
Here are seven pick-your-own apple orchards in Rhode Island to visit this fall.
Jaswell’s Farm
Jaswell Farm in Smithfield is the stop for not just produce but also their gigantic gourmet apples covered in chocolate and caramel.
Jaswell’s Farm, a fourth-generation family farm run by brother and sister duo Chris and Allison, pick-your-own apples, pumpkins and sunflowers throughout the fall season.
The market and bakery feature signature products like homemade apple cider, natural lemonade, gourmet pies, apple cider donuts and Jaswell’s famous gourmet candy apples covered in caramel, chocolate and a choice topping.

Barden Family Orchard

A family farm that still has some trees from 1931, Barden Family Orchard has a seasonal pick-your-own experience with over 20 types of apples, as well as raspberries, blueberries, pumpkins and more.
The farm market at Barden Family Orchard offers a variety of seasonal goods like homemade cider jelly, sweet corn, freshly-pressed sweet apple cider and applesauce.
When: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday-Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday; Sept. 1 through early November

Pippin Orchard
Pippin Apple Orchard, in Cranston, has lots to offer in addition to apple cider doughnuts.
Cranston’s Pippin Orchard has over 17 acres of neatly groomed apple trees perfect to wander through in search of the ideal pick, whether its Macintosh, Empire, Cortland, Gala, Honeycrisp or another.
Get your sweet tooth ready before visiting, because Pippin has a ton of tasty seasonal treats: apple cider, muffins, pumpkin donuts, fruit pies, apple pie cookies, apple strudel cake, candy or caramel apples and a featured apple cider slushy, available with a shot of caramel or spiced maple.

Steere Orchard
There are plenty of peaches, as well as pick-your-own apples, at Steere Orchard, in Greenville.
Steere Orchard has been growing apples and peaches since the 1930s, passing down the pick-your-own business through four generations of family. Outside the orchard, the farm stand has pre-picked pumpkins, squash, corn, jams and jellies, apple cider, locally produced honey and more.

Sweet Berry Farm
Located near the Aquidneck Island beaches, this Middletown, Rhode Island farm features a pick-your-own orchard, market and café. The summer season offers strawberry, blueberry and peach picking, and the fall season offers apple and pumpkin picking.
Sweet Berry Farm‘s market sells pre-picked farm grown produce, prepared foods, premium ice cream and collectible gifts. At the self-serve café, customers can enjoy breakfast or lunch in either indoor or outdoor seating. Sweet Berry also sells a wide variety of ice cream and gelato, providing the perfect sweet treat after a day of apple picking.

Sunset Orchard Farm
Sunset Orchard Farm, one of the oldest orchards in Rhode Island, offers 29 varieties of apples to pick from across 18 acres. The farm’s bakery also offers seasonal sweets like candied apples, pastries, cookies, home baked pies and later in the season, fresh-pressed apple cider.
When: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Sunday

Narrow Lane Orchard
Things are peachy at North Kingstown’s Narrow Lane Orchard, now offering pick your own peaches and apples.
The 30 acres of Narrow Lane Orchard offer over 20 varieties of apples to pick from, as well as peaches, nectarines, blueberries, blackberries and kiwi berries in the summer. Apples can be picked in the orchard or purchased in the farm store.
After you secure your apples, be sure to take a stroll on the scenic mile-long nature trail and take a picture with the famous eight-foot Sasquatch statue.
