The City of Lubbock has temporarily taken its systems offline to evaluate a potential security concern.
On Thursday morning, the city issued a news release stating it is following its established protocols for addressing issues of this nature.

This cybersecurity concern comes exactly a month after the city faced a cyber attack beginning Tuesday, August 12, 2025, which resulted in the shutdown of all systems. Fortunately, the city discovered that no sensitive information was compromised or evidence of a data breach.

It is unknown at this time the nature of the incident or if this incident is related to the August attack.

“Protecting the information in our care remains a top priority,” reads the release. “We will provide updates as soon as information becomes available. We thank you for your patience.”
