Brightline is slashing its fares to and from its West Palm Beach station to prices as low as $14, the passenger train company said.
That ticket price is available for some rides between West Palm Beach and Boca Raton, while one-way trips between West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale cost as low as $17, and fares between West Palm Beach and Miami cost as low as $25.
Those prices are available for trips in the early morning, midday, in the late afternoon and night. Fares are higher for trips during the morning and afternoon rush hour, roughly 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Fares between West Palm Beach and Boca Raton during rush hour cost $26, while fares between West Palm Beach and Miami cost $44.
West Palm Beach-Miami rush hour trips cost $54 before this week.
How about Brightline fares from Palm Beach County to Orlando?
Brightline is running a temporary 25% discount for passengers traveling from Palm Beach, Broward or Miami-Dade counties to its Orlando International Airport station. Adults getting a “SMART” fare, the train’s cheaper of its two classes, must enter the promo code LEAF25 in the correct section of the rail service’s online form when buying a ticket at gobrightline.com.
Passengers must book at least seven days in advance of their trips. This deal ends Saturday, Brightline has said. The discount applies to trips scheduled through Nov. 19.
How does Brightline compare to Tri-Rail?
A Brightline train leaves the West Palm Beach station.
Brightline travels faster but costs riders more than publicly funded Tri-Rail, which runs mostly parallel to Brightline between Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties.
Brightline takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes to travel from its station in downtown West Palm Beach to downtown Miami, stopping in between in Boca Raton next to Mizner Park, downtown Fort Lauderdale and Aventura.

Tri-Rail’s morning southbound and evening northbound weekday express trains each take about 1 hour and 30 minutes to travel between downtown West Palm Beach and downtown Miami.
Tri-Rail’s morning express train leaves West Palm Beach at 6:30 a.m., while the evening one departs Miami at 5:35 p.m., with each route stopping in Boca Raton, near the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and at a transfer station to the Miami Metrorail.
Regular Tri-Rail service between downtown West Palm Beach to downtown Miami takes more than two hours, with passengers having to transfer to Metrorail to get to downtown Miami because the southern end of Tri-Rail’s regular route is the Miami International Airport.
Tri-Rail costs $8.75 one-way between West Palm Beach and Miami, express or regular route, about one-third the cost of Brightline.
