Sep. 12—A McKinley County teenager is in federal custody after allegedly making violent threats on social media following the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.
Federal court records state that Jace Allen, 19, used an account on X under the alias “Jebron Lames” to post a series of violent and racist threats shortly after the fatal shooting of Kirk during an event held at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, on Wednesday.
A criminal complaint states that an FBI office in Toledo, Ohio, received a tip about the ongoing posts via the agency’s Guardian Threat Tracking system. The posts were traced to a phone number in Jamestown, New Mexico, and a residential address where Allen lives.
In an interview with law enforcement agents, Allen said he identifies as a neo-Nazi, “hates Jews and minorities,” and “believes a civil war is inevitable in the United States and wants to help spark the civil war by terrorizing people online,” the complaint states.
Among the threats, Allen wrote that he planned to commit mass murder, target minorities and Jews, and shoot up unspecified locations. He also threatened an Ohio city council member directly, telling the official, “You’re gonna be one of the first to die,” according to a news release issued by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in New Mexico.
Although Allen stated he did not own a firearm, a search of his phone revealed videos of him firing a rifle and handgun in August 2025, federal authorities stated.
He appeared before a U.S. magistrate judge in Albuquerque on Friday and is being held in federal custody until a preliminary/detention hearing set for Tuesday.
Allen is charged with transmitting communications containing a threat to injure another person and will remain in custody pending a detention hearing. If convicted of the current charges, Allen faces five years in prison.
