Sep. 19—ST. PAUL — Clean Energy Resource Teams is seeking Seed grant proposals for projects involving community-led energy efficiency, renewable energy, electric vehicles and energy storage projects.
Project funding can support labor costs only (such as consultant fees, design professional fees, electrician costs, installer costs, student interns, participation incentives, etc.) for projects across the state in all seven Minnesota CERT regions: Central, Metro, Northeast, Northwest, Southeast, Southwest and West Central.
CERT is accepting project proposals that:
* Help people learn about clean energy.
* Build community by engaging a variety of partners.
* Remove barriers, making clean energy more accessible for everyone.
* Are highly visible in the community and can be an example for other communities.
Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, community-based organizations, local governments, tribal nations, schools, libraries, civic associations, religious institutions, service clubs, student groups, business associations, cooperatives, food shelves, shelters and for-profit entities if the project has a public purpose.
Preference will be given to proposals that are from, led by, and/or include meaningful participation by historically underserved populations, a release said.
Seed grants are competitive and awarded at $5,000-10,000 each. There are usually more requests than funds available.
Applications are due by noon on Wednesday, Oct. 1.
