Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal single car crash in Carroll County Saturday morning, according to a release.
John Louis Petri, Jr., 28, of Westminster, was pronounced dead on the scene by emergency medical services personnel after his car left the road and hit a house, according to the release.
Troopers from the Maryland State Police Westminster Barrack responded to reports of a single-vehicle crash at 1:40 a.m. in the area of Maryland 97 at Mayberry Road. Preliminary investigations showed a Honda CR-V, driven by Petri, left the road for an unknown reason, overturned, and struck a fence, telephone pol,e and house, according to the release.
No other injuries were reported on the scene, according to police. The MSP Crash Team is leading the ongoing investigation.
All lanes were closed for the crash investigation this morning, but the lanes are now open, according to the MSP.
