Pedestrian killed in northeast Wilmington. Driver faces vehicular homicide, DUI charges

A pedestrian was killed when he was hit by a vehicle in northeast Wilmington on Sept. 18.

Around 9:20 that night, officers went to the 1100 block of Northeast Blvd., where they located a 21-year-old man who succumbed to his injuries, Wilmington police said.

The driver, 31-year-old Jose Ayala-Medina, was arrested and charged with second-degree vehicular homicide, driving under the influence and other traffic-related offenses, police said.
