New London police are searching for a suspect in an armed robbery at a convenience store on Thursday night.
Officers were called to a Sam’s Food Store at 485 Ocean Ave. around 11:52 p.m. on Thursday on a report of a robbery with the suspect inside, according New London Police Department.
The suspect fled the location with a sum of money before officers arrived at the scene, police said. Additionally, officers learned that the suspect brandished a handgun during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a man with a medium build wearing dark colored clothing and white sneakers, according to police.
The investigation remains active.
