Officials told Channel 9 that a semi-trailer was slowing down due to traffic in the lanes ahead when a Honda Accord rear-ended the truck. The car ended up wedged underneath the tractor-trailer.

Highway patrol troopers told Channel 9 that the driver in the Honda was flown to a hospital in Charlotte.
