A pupil attacked a 66-year-old teacher in eastern France with a knife on Wednesday, sending the educator to hospital with facial injuries, a spokesman for the gendarmerie said.
A 14-year-old suspect was later arrested. The pupil had injured himself with the knife during the arrest, the gendarmerie spokesman said.
The school in Benfeld, located just a few kilometres from the German border, was evacuated following the morning incident.
