SOUTH BEND — Indiana Department of Natural Resources is investigating the death of a man in the St. Joseph River downtown.
A man believed to be in his 40s or 50s was found in the river, the South Bend Fire Department reported.
The Tribune’s newsgathering partner WNDU reported that a water rescue team responded to East Colfax Avenue just after 7 a.m. Wednesday, September 24 after a resident hearing shouting and saw a man in the river. Fishing gear was found nearby.
