National Pancake Day, is Friday, Sept. 26, but not all pancake restaurants are celebrating today.
If you’re wondering, didn’t we already have a National Pancake Day? You’d be correct. IHOP also has an annual National Pancake Day that took place earlier this year.
Here’s what Kentuckians should know about National Pancake Day and where they can find deals.
When is National Pancake Day 2025?
The National Pancake Day on Sept. 26 began in 2005 as Lumberjack Day, a day set aside as “an excuse to eat pancakes and waffles with friends,” by friends Marianne Ways, a talent booker, and author Collen AF Venable, according to the National Day Calendar website.
Can I get a deal on pancakes at IHOP today?
No. IHOP has its own National Pancake Day, where they give out free short-stacks of buttermilk pancakes and raise money for charity by asking customers to leave a donation.
This has been the pancake restaurant’s tradition for the past 18 years. In 2025, it took place on March 4, but the date changes annually.
Cracker Barrel offers $5 all-you-can-eat pancakes deal
Cracker Barrel has a $5 all-you-can-eat-pancakes deal on Friday, Sept. 26, for National Pancake Day at participating locations.
For National Pancake Day, Cracker Barrel has a $5 all-you-can-eat deal on Friday, Sept. 26. Members of the Cracker Barrel Rewards loyalty program can also get the deal on Thursday, Sept. 25.
If you miss out on that deal, the restaurant chain, which got a lot of attention in August when it changed its logo and subsequently reverted back to the original logo, is highlighting pancakes throughout October, too.
During the heart of football season, Cracker Barrel is celebrating “pancake” blocks – when one football player flattens another during a play – by giving a free side order of pancakes to customers who wear a football jersey or have a valid same-day football game ticket stub (freebie good with any entrée purchase).
