LAKE CITY − A judge heard further testimony from the ex-girlfriend of Congressman Cory Mills about why he should approve a protective injunction against Mills for cyberstalking and harassment at a Sept. 26 hearing, which also included new information about the congressman’s marital status.
Lindsey Langston, the reigning Miss United States and a Columbia County Republican state committeewoman, has accused Mills of threatening to release intimate videos of her and possibly beat up any future romantic partners she might have.
The hearing had been continued from Sept. 5, when the parties exceeded the 90 minutes Columbia County Circuit Judge Fred Koberlein, Jr., had allotted.
U.S. Rep. Cory Mills, R-Florida, peers over the shoulder of his attorney John Terhune of Daytona Beach, during a hearing in Lake City on Friday, Sept. 26, 2025. Mills has been accused by his ex-girlfriend of harassing her, and she is seeking an injunction against harassment and cyberstalking from a Columbia County judge.
During the Sept. 26 hearing, both Mills and Langston were brought back to the stand, and their lawyers made closing arguments to Koberlein, who asked them to submit proposed written orders by Thursday, Oct. 2, before he rules.
Among the newest revelations at the hearing, Mills admitted he remains married to his wife, Rana Al-Saadi, a naturalized citizen originally from Iraq, but that the two have been in talks to divorce for more than five years.
Langston had previously testified that she only moved in with Mills in his New Smyrna Beach home because he had told her the divorce had been finalized.
Lindsey Langston, the reigning Miss United States, appears at a hearing in Lake City on Friday, Sept. 26, 2025. Langston is the ex-girlfriend of Congressman Cory Mills, against whom she is seeking an injunction against harassment and cyberstalking from a Columbia County judge.
Langston, 26, lived with Mills, 45, for about a year, until February, when news broke that he was under investigation by Washington, D.C., police for simple assault of a different love interest who wasn’t his wife.
At that first hearing, Langston described how she had asked, then begged Mills to stop contacting her in May and June, 11 times in all.
Hoping for a reconciliation?
Mills and his attorney, John Terhune, argued that Langston remained in contact with Mills during that time, and there were times when she did respond to his messages, suggesting to Mills that the two were continuing to consider a potential reconciliation.
After Langston confronted Mills about the alleged February assault and the existence of a second girlfriend, he denied being in a romantic relationship with her, Langston testified. But she didn’t believe him, saying she had seen photos of her and Mills posted on her social media pages.
Mills said during the Sept. 26 hearing that he had been off and on with the woman, Sarah Raviani, following the assault investigation, and they are still a couple.
Florida Congressman Cory Mills speaks to reporters from the passenger’s seat of a car his attorney, John Terhune, was driving on Sept. 26, 2025, after a court hearing in Lake City. Mills was fighting a protective order against harassment and cyberstalking requested by his ex-girlfriend, Lindsey Langston, the reigning Miss United States. The judge has not yet ruled on whether he will grant the injunction.
After Mills and Langston broke up, Mills told her “he would kill whoever I date in the future,” she testified. He also threatened to release nude images and “intimate” videos of her, as well as one in which the two were engaged in sex, she testified.
One of his messages previously shared with The News-Journal and referenced in court was sent as part of a conversation about a potential romantic rival. It read: “I can send him a few videos of you, as well. Oh, I still have those.”
Baking, no sex
Mills testified that he was referring to non-salacious videos of her, such as when she was baking in his kitchen, and that he had no access to the sex videos because his phone had broken.
Under questioning by Langston’s attorney, Bobi Frank, Mills said he never sent any salacious videos to Langston.
“But you transmitted a penis picture, didn’t you?” Frank asked.
“Uh, I honestly don’t know,” Mills responded. “… I don’t recall.”
After the hearing, from his lawyer’s car outside the courthouse, Mills repeated having no recollection of that.
“And I can tell you, if I had done that, that would have been one of her exhibits, I can assure you,” Mills said.
