LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A man running across the United States made a stop in Las Vegas on Friday and shared more on his quest to make a difference.
“It’s my go-to,” Jason Doyle said of running. “It’s my safe space.”
For Doyle, the sport combines passion and purpose, and he has made it his mission to also use it to connect with others.
“I’ve never in my life felt so full in my heart,” Doyle said. “Just to be having conversations.”
Doyle is running approximately 3,000 miles across the United States, from California to New York.
He told 8 News Now he plans to run 30 to 45 miles per day, stopping in more than 200 cities, including Las Vegas.
“There’s just such a diverse amount of people specific to Las Vegas,” Doyle said. “That I am finding so much joy over.”
It is all part of his No Map for Manhood Project.
His goal is to meet and learn from men in every city he travels through, all while promoting the importance of mental health.
“I found that I’ve been running from fear for so long,” Doyle explained. “And I found this project is just running towards a purpose, to amplify the voices of men across the country.”
Doyle added more on his motivation to prepare for fatherhood and make a better world for his son, who is due in January.
As anyone would imagine, the process is not easy, but Doyle told 8 News Now it’s worth it.
“I still have a lot of miles to go, I don’t know what’s going to come of this,” he said. “But I just want to know that I’m taking action.”
He said he will do what he can to make a change, one step and one mile at a time.
“Manhood isn’t a solo journey,” Doyle concluded. “Connecting with other men feels good, it just feels good.”
