SARANAC LAKE — State Assembly candidate Brent Davison will serve as a Deacon at the 2025 Blue Mass at St. Bernard’s Church in Saranac Lake Sunday, Sept. 28.

According to a news release sent to media Thursday, the service will honor local police, correctional officers, firefighters and EMS personnel, with prayers offered for their safety and well-being.

Davison recently retired from the New York State Police and decided to run in the upcoming 115th Assembly District special election as a Republican. He is also a U.S. Army veteran, former Corrections Officer, and retired master sergeant in the National Guard. He serves as a permanent deacon in the Diocese of Ogdensburg as well.

Davison, drawing on both his law enforcement background and his faith, will have “the special opportunity to help unite the community in support of the men and women who put their lives on the line every day this weekend,” the press release said.

“From day one, my campaign has been about uniting our community and protecting what we love most,” Davison said. “As a former state trooper commander, I know firsthand the hard work and dedication our men and women in blue put in to keep our communities safe. As a man of faith, I believe it is important to use my voice to support and uplift those who protect us.”

Davison will face off against Democratic opponent Michael Cashman for the assembly seat Nov. 4.
