COURTESY PHOTO Noa Lolohea COURTESY PHOTO Noa Lolohea A 20-year-old Puna man was charged by complaint Friday with several crimes related to a Sept. 17 firearms incident on the roadway in the Hawaiian Paradise Park subdivision, the Hawaii County Prosecutor ”s office said.
Noa Lolohea made his initial appearance in Hilo District Court Friday. Bail was maintained at $261, 000, and he was ordered for a preliminary hearing Sept. 30.
The incident occurred on the road fronting a home on 29th Avenue, county officials said in a Friday news release.
The complaint charges him with first-degree reckless endangering, first-degree terroristic threatening, and four counts of firearms and ammunition offenses including carrying or possessing a loaded firearm on a public highway, as well as driving without a license and third-degree promoting a dangerous drug.
The most serious offenses are those involving firearms, which are Class B felonies. They carry a maximum 10-year sentence.
Prosecutors say they will seek a mandatory term of imprisonment if Lolohea is convicted, and he will not be eligible for probation.
