One man died from a crash between a car and a tractor-trailer in Isle of Wight County.
The crash occurred at 8:33 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Benns Church Boulevard and South Church Street, according to a press release from state police.
James Norman Porter III, 63, was traveling eastbound on Benns Church Boulevard in a Honda Pilot and turned left into the path of a Freightliner tractor-trailer, traveling westbound, according to preliminary investigations.

Porter was suffering from life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured, and has not been identified by police.
This crash is still under investigation by the Virginia State Police and no additional information was available.
