Sep. 28—Two people riding an all-terrain vehicle in the Northwest Alaska community of Brevig Mission died when it crashed early Saturday, Alaska State Troopers said.
Brevig Mission residents Tommy Iyapana, 29, and Maude Adam, 25 — the ATV’s two occupants — were killed in the crash, troopers said in an online update.
Troopers said they received a report of the single-vehicle ATV crash just before 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

The agency is responding by boat to Brevig Mission, located on the Seward Peninsula around 60 miles northwest of Nome, to further investigate the crash, Alaska State Troopers said.
Iyapana and Adam’s next of kin were notified, and the State Medical Examiner Office will conduct an autopsy, according to troopers.
