A male driver who confronted another motorist was shot and killed, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
At about 2:17 p.m. Sept. 27, police officers responded to reports of a shooting near 7th and Missouri avenues in Phoenix, according to spokesperson Sgt. Brian Bower.
Stephen Guardino, 54, was found with a serious gunshot wound and taken to the hospital, where he later died, Bower said.
Police learned that Guardino was driving in the area when he exited his vehicle to confront another driver, a woman who was stopped at the intersection, Bower said.
The woman fired a gun from inside her vehicle, fatally striking Guardino, according to Bower.
The woman remained at the scene to speak with officers and was later interviewed and released, said Bower.
“Details of what led to this incident are still being investigated by detectives,” Bower said.
