Seattle Police are searching for black SUV after Capitol Hill shooting

Seattle police detectives are investigating a shooting in Capitol Hill this afternoon.

At about 3:55 p.m., patrol officers responded to a shooting near Broadway East and East Harrison Street. There, they found a victim with a gunshot wound to her knee. Police and the Seattle Fire Department (SFD) provided her with medical treatment.

SFD transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center in serious, but stable condition.

Police determined that a fight disturbance occured between a group of people. During the altercation, several people were pepper sprayed and gunshots rang out.

After reviewing video, officers learned the suspect fired several shots into the crowd the fled the area in a black SUV before the cops arrived. Police did not locate her.

Detectives in the Gun Violence Reduction Unit responded to process the scene. Anyone with information is asked to call the SPD Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000.
