Sept. 28 (UPI) — A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket loaded with more than two dozen Starlink satellites launched into space Thursday evening from California’s Vandenberg Space Force Base.

The rocket launched shortly after 7 p.m. PDT.

It was carrying a payload of 28 Starlink satellites to be deployed into low-Earth orbit, where they will join a constellation of others that provide high-speed, low-latency Internet across the globe.

The first-stage booster, which was on its 28th flight, successfully landed upon the Of Course I Still Love You droneship that had been awaiting its return to Earth in the Pacific.

The launch was the 117th Flacon 9 launch of the year, with a plan to launch a total of 134 before 2026.
