SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV)– There will be an overnight lane closure along Interstate 81 southbound in Syracuse.
The New York State Department of Transportation wants you to know that I-81 Southbound will be reduced to one lane between Exit 17 (S Salina St/Brighton Ave) and Exit 78 (Onondaga Nation/Nedrow) from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., starting Monday, Sept. 29 to Friday, Oct. 3.
The closure is for paving work as part of the I-81 Viaduct Project.
Construction activities will be based on the weather and are subject to change based on conditions.

Drivers are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Receiving two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of your driver’s license.
