A beautiful night Sept. 28 was made even better when hot-air balloons launched on the final evening of the 2025 Ravenna Balloon A-Fair at Portage County Randolph Fairgrounds. The event was held outside Ravenna for the first time. Colorful balloons filled the skies over and around the Randolph locale. Among the more popular balloons for festival-goers was the giant Claw’D, the Crazy Crab Balloon. Standing 85 feet tall, the red-and-yellow balloon with eyes that stand skyward over the shell, is 80 feet wide and weighs 425 pounds. Other activities at the fairgrounds included activities for children.
