With Election Day, Nov. 4, fast approaching, here are the important dates and info you need to know about this upcoming election cycle.
When is the deadline to register to vote in the Texas Nov. 4, 2025 election?
Oct. 6, 2025 is the last day to register to vote and to submit an address change for the general election.
You can report an address or name change online through the Texas Secretary of State’s website. You should do this if you’ve moved since the last time you voted or have legally changed your name.
How do I check my voter registration in Texas?
You can check to see if you’re registered and verify your information through the Texas Secretary of State’s website.
You’ll need one of the following three combinations to log in:
Your Texas driver’s license number and date of birth.
Your first and last names, date of birth and county you reside in.
Your date of birth and Voter Unique Identifier, which appear on your voter registration certificate.
How do I register to vote in Texas?
There are a few things to know when it comes to registering to vote in Texas. First is to know if you can register to vote.
Most U.S. citizens in Texas can register to vote if they are 18 or older or if they will be 18 by the Nov. 4 election day. Typically, voters have to submit a paper application 30 days before the election.

How do I register to vote?
If you decide to mail a voter registration application, it must be postmarked by the Oct. 6 deadline for you to vote in the Nov. 4 election.
You can request a postmark at your local post office. Prospective voters can print an application or request one by mail through the Texas Secretary of State’s website. Once completed, send it to or deliver it in person to your local elections office.
Additionally, you can register to vote through the Texas Department of Public Safety while renewing your driver’s license. You may be able to register to vote online if you’re also allowed to renew your license online. This is the only online registration option available in the state.
Do you have to reregister to vote?
Once you register to vote, you generally remain registered, but there are various reasons why you may want to verify your registration status. For example, you need to update your registration after a change to your name or address. You can make those updates online through the Texas Office of the Secretary of State Voter Name and Address Changes
When does early voting begin in Texas for the Nov. 4, 2025 election?
Early voting starts Oct. 20 and ends Oct. 31. Check your local election office website, as Early Election Day polling locations may have changed from years and/or differ from Election Day polling locations.
