Flash Flooding Seen In South Florida As Days Of Heavy Rain Begin

Heavy rain that will persist this weekend was already causing flash flooding in parts of South Florida on Thursday evening.

Video shared on X showed streets inundated with water in Dania Beach.

By late Thursday, streets were also swamped in parts of Fort Lauderdale.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for coastal counties along Florida’s east coast through Sunday morning. The flooding threat includes Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Daytona Beach and Jacksonville.
